We love teaching children the importance of nutrition, where food comes from, and how fantastic it is for their growing bodies, in a fun and non-intimidating environment. There's nothing better than hearing that children of all ages who take part in our cooking classes or school programs head home super keen to cook dinner for their family!
And we're talking healthy, wholesome meals cooked from start to finish - no pizzas or cupcakes in sight. They also take away a new appreciation for nutrition, and will be excited about trying something new!
School Cooking Programs
We design and teach one to five day programs suitable for junior, middle or high school students, using your school’s Home Economics facility or at our purpose-built kitchen. The program can include tailored recipes, market tours, education on health, nutrition, kitchen safety and kitchen skills, whatever you need – we even set the homework. It’s a fun way to spend ‘activities week’ or as part of your school curriculum.
Students and staff from Prince Alfred College, Christian Brothers College, Wilderness School, Cabra Dominican College, Marymount School, Mercedes College and St George College have all taken part in our school cooking programs.
School Canteen Menu Review & Staff Training Days
Want to improve the healthy options available at your school canteen? Or perhaps your faculty staff would like to attend a cooking class to learn some useful tips and tricks about preparing healthy school lunches.
We offer menu review and development services, and we can come out to your school and host a cooking demonstration for your staff, or you can come to us for a hands-on cooking class.
School Cooking Demonstrations
We love visiting schools and hosting cooking demonstrations for your students. It might be as part of your school's health & wellbeing week, or just as a special treat. We can also incorporate a nutrition presentation for your students, tailored to their age and cooking ability, and they'll get a copy of our recipes to keep.
If one of the above kids events sounds like what you're after, submit an enquiry and we'll be in touch soon.
